There are some foods that we just LOVE but can't grow here locally-- including such things as coffee, mangos, chocolate, bananas, vanilla and even black pepper! Beaches Local Food Network is coordinating a trip to Costa Rica, to share with our community the incredible country where we spent several years living at and off-the-grid permaculture farm. We aim to share with you the beauty of the rainforest and diversity of cultures, their current threats, and solutions we can all implement from right here at home!

- Learn first-hand from the Bri-Bri indigenous people about how they have sustained themselves, in harmony with their surrounding environment, for hundreds of years!
- Hike with a local Afro-Caribbean who can spot sloth and monkeys from across the jungle!
- Raft the Rio Pacuare, one of the top rivers in the world!
- Sleep at the base of an active volcano, and then soak in its natural hot springs!
- Eat truly fresh tropical foods, straight from the farm!
- Learn about hydroelectricity and cheesemaking at an off-the-grid family farm in the cloud forest, at 10,000 feet!
